Just Checking In..

Hi everyone. I'm just adding some pictures to show a little of what we've been up to. It's all going well so I've got no complaints. Internet access is a little sketchy so I haven't been posting as much. The grips and a camera operator all got a beautiful house on the ocean and moved out of the crappy hotel, so at least we have a nice place to stay now. Everyone stay safe and send along any questions/comments.

Nice looking house. I just hope production is paying for your new diggs.

Good luck with the rest of the shoot!

Thanks for dropping by DW. Yeah, production is picking it up, we just had to get enough guys together so our housing allowances would cover it. The house in the picture, incidentally, isn't the one we're staying in, it's where we're shooting and I was screwing around with my camera phone one day and just snapped a picture of the carts (I don't know why).

Wow !! Thats a great view to have from your room. What do you do for food if you are not in a hotel? Do you cook yourself after getting back from 12 hrs on the job? Or takeaway?

I never really get to go anywhere exotic. I go places like Mississippi, and Connecticut. You Canadians and Europeans probably go to cooler places.
We usually cook a huge dinner on the wekends and have leftovers throughout the week, or make a sandwich.

Has anyone heard of or better still used the "Talon" remote head? It is from an american company called "Ravens Claw"
Would love some input.

Thanks for posting the pictures - one question though: In the most recent pic is that round track on top of square track??

Hi John,
That's round track on top of Aluma Beams, which are simply aluminum I beams. They allow you to go over uneven terrain or do long runs without a lot of boxes for leveling. Just level the beams, fill in the middle and lay track on top.
Gripworks- I havent heard of the head you speak of.
Thanks,
D
