Fire!

If anyone's curious where I live, just look at the news. That fire that's burning north of LA today? That's about 5 to 8 miles south of my house. We're in no danger really, but the power may go out and the interstates are cut off to the south, so there's no way to go any way but north. I hope to be able to get to work on Monday. The smoke looks like a bomb went off.

My friend just sent me some incredible pictures from a fire in Sylmar. Hopefully this all gets sorted out.

    Hi D,
Is all ok with you? I see on the morning news that the fire seems to have spread. Just asking since your house is that close.

  3. Thanks guys, We're fine although it's really bad in some spots, we're in a relatively protected area.

D, you gus ever think of building houses or mobile homes out of brick? They don't burn, ya know. Seriously, glad you're okay.

Oh that moon shot !! Thank you ... I guess. I have been of the view that India has far better ways to spend the billions of dollars it uses for rockets to the moon and nuclear weapons. For a country with starving millions, it seems a strange priority. But well done to those scientists anyway. It must be satisfying !! like the feeling of building a really complex rig and having it work flawlessly ... multiplied by 1000 !!!

  8. I understand. Unfortunately, we rarely hear about the starving over here (we're too caught up in what Paris Hilton is doing).
